This is turning out to be stupid easy.

Ok, so Reid.cx has been dark for a couple years. I’ve been busy…
If I’m correct, I left off here. Thanks to the power of WordPress, I’m going to pick up where I left off.
It’s good to be back.
I am now able to update the news on my website from any computer with an Internet connection!
What you are reading right now is being displayed from a database! Once I’ve completed this project, I’ll be able to add updates from anywhere that has an Internet connection.
I just spent the last three and half hours building the new site. All the pictures are back up and the videos are now available under the appropriate sections of Multimedia (at least with our wedding, since that’s the only with videos right now). You will also notice a crumb trail at the top of the pages that shows you the page you are currently on and where it resides in the site’s navigation structure. Um, what else? Oh yeah, I created a “Quick Links” menu for the websites I hit most often during my Internet usage, but if you want to use them you’re more than welcome to.
Be sure to enjoy my song of the week, too! I’ll do my best to keep it updated for y’all so the site doesn’t get too stale. Anyway, I’m babbling…
Well, I’ve updated the site’s look again and I must say, this is my favorite design thus far. Barring any future creative outbursts on my part, this will be the site’s look from now on. There’s a ton of stuff I’m going to be implementing once I have the time, but until that magical day comes you can expect the significant updates like pictures, etc. to be few and far between. Oh yeah, and a quick FYI: none of the links on the left work yet.
At the prodding of my friend Brandon, I decided to start hosting my website off my own box, instead of playing by someone else’s rules and having them control what I can or can’t do. Now that I have started doing that, I really wonder why I never did to begin with. Talk about freedom! I now have all the space I need and the power to do whatever I want! Expect some ASP right away followed maybe by some Cold Fusion or something.. The sky’s the limit!
As you can probably (not) tell, I started making changes to the website. I added an ASP ad rotator so that each time you hit a page it will show a different ad instead of the same one everytime, like it was doing before. Also, I changed some of the titles on the tabs at the top. They all still have the same functionality, but this way they are a little more versatile so I can place a broader range of things within them. Oh yeah, I color-coded them too. So now instead of all being red, only the page you are on is highlighted.
Well, after over a month of various server issues, we are back online. I am now using mydomain.com to forward the reid.cx domain off to my Adelphia-hosted site (which was never down to begin with). Anyway, expect more updates soon now that everything is back as it should be.
